The topic of what poker bonuses are the best for players has been a hot one more or less since the inception of the online poker industry.  It seems like an easy enough question to answer –  the biggest online poker bonus is the best poker bonus, right?  After all, when you read poker room reviews, they’re always putting the amount of the bonus right up front, in large and bolded font.

The amount of the bonus does matter, of course, but it’s not the only factor that’s important.  The trump factor is, of course, whether or not a room is one you feel comfortable playing at, but there are other elements of the bonus you need to take into account once you’ve found a room you like.

If it’s not all about size, then what should you be looking for?  When evaluating an online poker bonus, you should also consider the multiplier, the clearance rate and the rake schedule of the room.  The best poker bonus code will provide a good balance of all of those factors, giving you the best value at the lowest price.

Let’s start with the multiplier.  Would you rather have a bonus that awarded you a 100% match with a total maximum bonus of $1000 or a bonus with a 250% match on your deposit with a maximum bonus of $500?  That’s a question that depends heavily on how much you want to deposit, but the general thing to take away is that not all multipliers are created equal.  If you have an unlimited amount to deposit, this isn’t as much of an issue for you.
