World Poker Tour (WTP) started in the United States and is a series of international poker tournaments. To the World Poker Tour participate most of the world's top professional players . John Duthie have a great success with inventing a poker tournament series. The television show of the World Poker Tour have led to a boom in the table game in casino poker rooms and online, but also across American homes. Casinos and online poker sites are those who have sponsored World Poker Tour.
Shana Hiatt began serving as host and sideline reporter in the first 3 seasons. Courtney Friel presents the show in the fourth season, and the next season (5), Sabina Gadecki took over the host role. Layla Kayleigh and Kimberly Lansing presents the show in the 6 season, then joined Amanda Leatherman for season seven.
World Poker Tour organized a set of tournaments for women in January 2008, as the World Poker Tour ladies. First season in this tournament will have 5 events and the final table of the final event will be televised, with buy-in from 300-1500 dolars.
The power that World Poker Tour has and most other tournaments of poker is that anyone who can pay the buy-in(an amount between $2,500 to $25,000) or win a "satellite" tournament can compete with any of the top players.

World Poker Tour Championships winner of $ 3.9 million was Carlos Mortensen in the fifth season and he won the highest amount of the 7 seasons World Poker Tour Championship. The other seasons brought a huge success for winers like Alan Goehring(season I), Martin De Knijff(season II), Tuan Le(season III), David Chiu(season VI), Joe Bartholdi Jr.(season IV) and Yevgeniy Timoshenko in season seven.
PokerStars understood that the players love to play live tournaments, and online poker to and they hosted the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure every year ,as a World Poker Tour event. The World Poker Tour is every Wednesday night on the Travel Channel and at the final tables are six players who fight for World Poker Tour titles in front of an international television audience.
