Texas Hold'em - Cadillac of Poker

1. Objective

2. History

3. The Texas Holdem miracle

4. Rules (Learn to play in less then 20 minutes)

1. Objective

We are talking about one of the most wanted variant of poker, as we all know, or not. The game works like this: all players complete for an amount of money called the pot contributed by the players themselves. All the cards are dealt randomly and outside the control of the players, each player attempts to control the amount of money in the pot based on the hand the player holds.

The game includes, a series of hand or a deal. A hand may end a the showdown, in which case the remaining players compare their hands and the highest hand is awarded the pot; that highest hand is usually held by only one player, but can be held by more in the case jof a tie. The other possibility for the conclusion of a hand is when all but one player have folded and have thereby abandoned any claim to the pot, in which case the pot is awarded to the player who has not folded. So as the major objective is that each winning player is not to win every hand, and rather making correct decisions regarding on the bet size, when to raise, call or fold.

Important Note: When you take decision as the one from above the poker players maximize long-term winnings by maximizing their expected utility on each round of betting. You can as well take this advice as a Strategy.

2. History

Texas Texas Hold'em -Cadillac of Poker is the primary version of Poker played in many casinos, and it's the version seen on television shows like the TravelChannel's World Poker Tour and ESPN's World Series of Poker.

The history of Texas Hold'em poker is a disputed one, and as result we have the Europe history  version and the U.S.A history. It is stated by some that Texas hold em poker was born as a German game (Pochen, meaning to knock) and evolved by way of France (known as Poque). It is not certain that these terms are what 'poker' derived from though. It is more likely that the Texas Hold'em poker as we know today had a number of different origins and influences. These games include the Persian game of 'as nas', the Renaissance game of 'primero', and the French game 'brelan'. It is well documented that the concept of 'bluffing' derived from the English game of 'brag'.Community card poker allegedly started during WW2.

What is known is that Texas Hold'em community card poker shot to the popularity during the seventies with the first 'world series of poker WSOP. Although little is known about the invention of Texas Hold'em, the Texas State Legislature officially recognizes Robstown, Texas as the game's birthplace, dating the game to the early 1900s.

Texas Hold'em poker grew in popularity in the U.S.A through times of the 'wild west' and with Mississippi River boat casinos adopting the game and spreading across the nation. It is likely most of the poker variations emerged around these times. The arrival of online casinos such as Little woods and the concept of Texas Hold'em as a TV spectator sport has made the online poker game what we recognize today, In the first decade of the 21st century, Texas Hold'em experienced a surge in popularity worldwide. Many observers attribute this growth to the synergy of five factors: the invention of online poker, the game's appearance in film and on television, the 2004–05 NHL lockout, the appearance of television commercials advertising online card rooms, and the 2003 World Series of Poker championship victory by online qualifier.

Today’s regards for Texas Hold'em is that these games were the highest stakes ever played, reaching $100,000–$200,000 fixed limit. For this game all that we can say that is one of the most popular and we all enjoy playing  and so it will be from now one.

3. The Texas Holden miracle

Today’s journey starts as being into 21ST CENTURY, the Millennium of the computers and the Internet. The ability to play cheaply and anonymously online has been credited as a cause of the increase in popularity of Texas Hold'em. Online poker sites both allow people to try out games and also provide an avenue for entry into large tournaments (like the World Series of Poker) WSOP via smaller tournaments known as satellites. The 2003 and 2004 winners of the qualified by playing in these tournaments. Online poker grew from its inception World Series No Limit Hold'em Main Event in 1998 until 2003, Moneymaker's win and the appearance of televisions advertisements in 2003 contributed to a tripling of industry revenues in 2004.

4. Rules (Learn to play in less then 20 minutes)

Basic Background for Texas Hold'em is the most common form of poker played today. It's primary objective is to make the best five-card hand using any combination of five community cards and the two hole cards dealt to each player.

Texas Hold'em can be learned in less than 20 minutes so let’s START !!! As any variant of poker Texas Hold'em has basic rules :

1) The Shuffle, The Deal and The Blinds. 2) Betting Begins. 3) The Flop. 4) Fourth Street. 5) Fifth Street. 6) Final Betting and The One(Winner).

1) The Shuffle, The Deal and The Blinds. The dealer shuffles a standard 52-card deck. In most of the casinos, the dealer never plays. A round disc, known as a "dealer button" moves clockwise from player to player with each hand. The button marks which player would be the dealer if the deal were advanced from player to player as the game went along. Most Texas Hold'em Poker games start with the two players to the left of the dealer “the button” putting a predetermined amount of money into the pot before any cards are dealt, ensuring that there's something to play for on every hand. This is called "posting the blinds." Most often, the "first blind" -- the player to the left of the dealer -- puts up half the minimum bet, and the "second blind" puts up the full minimum bet. Each player is dealt two cards, face down. These are known as the "hole cards".

2) Betting Begins. A round of betting takes place, beginning with the player to the left of the two who posted the blinds. Players can call, raise, or fold when it's their turn to bet.

3) The Flop After the first betting round, the dealer discards the top card of the deck. This is called burning the card and is done to ensure that no one accidentally saw the top card, and to help prevent cheating. The dealer then flips the next three cards face up on the table. These cards are called the "flop." After the flop, another round of betting takes place, beginning with the player to the left of the dealer “the button”. During this and all future rounds of betting, players can check, call, raise, or fold when it's their turn to bet.

4) Fourth Street  The dealer burns another card and plays one more face up onto the table. This, the fourth community card, is called the "turn" or "Fourth Street." The player to the left of the dealer “the button” begins the third round of betting.

5) Fifth Street The dealer burns another card before placing the final face-up card on the table. This card is called the "river" or "Fifth Street".

6) Final Betting and The ONE (Winner) Players can now use any combination of seven cards -- the five community cards and the two hole cards known only to them -- to form the best possible five-card Poker hand. The fourth and final round of betting starts with the player to the left of the dealer “the button”. After the final betting round, all players who remain in the game reveal their hands. The player who made the initial bet or the player who made the last raise shows their hand first. The player with the best hand wins.

Enjoy playing!
