Players looking for a new online poker room typically face a tough –  yet enviable - choice.  Should they take advantage of the readily available no deposit bonus offers that allow them to grab some free cash with no risk, or should they instead deposit and receive the ubiquitous deposit bonus?

It’s a choice that largely comes down to the preference of the player, specifically the amount of money they’re interested in committing to their online poker hobby.  Let’s take a hypothetical player that we’ll call John.  John is looking for a new online poker room and he chooses PKR Poker.  John has two choices when he’s ready to sign up.  He can either get a free PKR Poker bankroll, which usually amounts to about $50, or he can find a PKR Bonus Code that will allow him to get a bonus that matches the amount he chooses to deposit.

John’s choice highlights the difference between no deposit bonuses and deposit bonuses.  If John is willing to deposit a large amount –  say $600 –  then the deposit bonus is a much better options.  John will get $600 in bonus money instead of just $50.  However, if John only wants to deposit a small amount, or is uncomfortable with depositing any money at all (perhaps feeling he might go on a roulette rampage in the PKR Casino), then the no deposit bonus is clearly the correct choice.

The same conditions should apply to you when you decide to try a new online poker rooms.  Give some thought to how much you’re willing to deposit, and check the terms of the bonus to see how much you will have to play to clear that deposit bonus.  Comparing that information to the amount and terms of the no deposit bonus should give you a much better picture of what type of bonus is right for you.
