PokerRoom Reopens, So Does Poker School

After a three year “retirement” PokerRoom has returned to its devoted players.  Bwin, the Swedish online gaming company, decided to reopen the online poker site after shutting it down in 2009.

One of the most important features that will be beneficial to a new generation of online poker players is the Poker School section of the website.  The Poker School is exactly what it sounds like; an area on the site that aims to educate players about different games and strategy. 

The reopening of PokerRoom means that there are two audiences that will be attracted and excited about the reopening.  First, former members of the original PokerRoom site that was open prior to 2009.  Some of these members may have cashed out after the closing the Poker School is a perfect way for these members to brush up on the different games that the reopened PokerRoom will host and the accompanying strategies.  Also, a younger, newer generation of players will need to be educated about the games on the relaunched website.  This section of the reopened website we a attractive as well. 

Regardless of the features on the new website, the most important part for online poker players is that the website is officially back up and running.  However, one draw back is that players in the United States can’t play on the side of the site that offers real cash poker games.  Players in the US are still restricted by the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) and therefore cannot play games on PokerRoom for real cash.  Players in other countries, like England and Canada, can play though.  This makes the reopening of the long time leader in the online poker community a huge deal.  It is a name that people in the online gambling world can trust.  In addition, PokerRoom is constantly adding new features to its reopened website to make it the best playing (and hopefully winning) experience that it can possibly be for online players.
